2019 Honey Aroma Jin Jun Mei
Fu yun #6 fully fermented
Huang Gang Shan, Tong Mu Guan, Fujian
This is an exquisite tea, cultivated and processed on Huang Gang Shan Mountain
( 黄岗山) by the Chen family. This is the original birthplace of Jin Jun Mei, as well a the classic Lapsang Souchong.
It was harvested on 19.03.19 from Fu Yun #6 cultivar plants. It is grown in a foggy environment, at around 1600m elevation which gives the tea unique growing conditions. Only the early spring buds are used and it is processed entirely by hand.
The processed tea produces a rich and fruity 'soup' with strong notes of honey and Turkish Delight, with notes of cacao on later infusions. The mouthfeel is smooth with little to no astringency.
This is a competition grade Jin Jun Mei and previous harvests of this tea (2017 and 2018) have won awards at both US and Australian Tea competitions.
