This Ya Shi Xiang is grown by the Chen family in Dong Jiao village in the Phoenix mountains. It is a medium roasted Dan Cong (single bush) oolong. The plants are grown at 800m elevation. To process the tea, it is roasted twice at lower temperatures to achieve a medium roasted profile.

The tea plants used to grow this tea are taken from cuttings of a much older 'Mother Plant' which is 78 years old and owned by tea farmer Wei Chunshi. This process has allowed this tea to be passed down generations. Ya Shi Xiang translates to Duck Shit Tea; a name used to dissuade rival tea farmers from stealing the much prized leaves.

The brewed tea is floral in flavour, but with a smooth and buttery mouthfeel. It produces a gorgeous soup, which will last for multiple infusions.
