A fine second flush 2019 Darjeeling grown on Gopaldhara Tea Estate. It is grown at an average elevation of 6500ft. It is graded as Tippy Golden Broken Orange Pekoe. It is plucked from the china bushes from the ‘high elevation’ section of the plantation. This particular tea is grown between 5000-7000ft elevation. It was picked in June 2019 and is comprised of 100% fine leaf.
This tea has all the ingredients that are necessary to make a perfect Darjeeling cup, with the right balance of floral and muscatel notes. The full oxidisation of the leaves gives this tea a full bodied aroma and flavour, with an amber cup colour.
Gopaldhara Estate is located in Mirik Valley and is one of the highest tea estates in Darjeeling. The total area of the garden is 320 Hectares. Out of the 320 Hectares, 172 Hectares has been planted with tea bushes. Planting is still being carried out in the vacant high elevation lands, between 5500 ft right up to 7000 ft. This make it one of the highest tea estates in the world, having a sizeable area of 60 Hectares and an average elevation of 6000 ft to 7000 ft. It has been planted with mixed clonal tea to produce rare and exquisite finest Darjeeling Tea.
