Hohin Teapot #3

£60

A hand made hohin teapot, perfect for brewing your favourite teas. Roughly 300ml capacity.  The hohin is well balanced and easy to pour, with a multi-hole filter on the inside than makes it suitable for brewing even more broken leaf teas.

Traditionally, hohin are small teapots with no handle, hand made at Japanese kilns suitable for teas prepared with warm water. Hohin literally means "treasure jar" in Japanese, implying the high-quality of the tea to be brewed in these teapots.

Local manufacture means a lot to us. This teapot was made by our in-house potter, Will Farquhar during his residency at our Heaton teashop. Using traditional pottery techniques and a bespoke glaze for Estate Tea Co, these teapots are truly one of a kind. Because of the handmade nature of these teapots, each one will vary slightly in size, shape and glaze.
