Gong Fu Teapot #1
A hand made gong fu teapot, perfect for brewing your favourite teas. Roughly 250ml capacity. Has an in-built filter to strain the tea leaves when pouring.
Gongfu Cha (literally, “Kung Fu Tea”) is a traditional Chinese term that refers to brewing tea with discipline and skill. Gongfu style tea pots are made smaller and are meant to brew many infusions of the same tea leaves during a tea session. Their volume typically ranges from 150ml-350ml, and the size used depends on number of guests and shape of the tea leaves.
Local manufacture means a lot to us. This teapot was made by our in-house potter, Will Farquhar during his residency at our Heaton teashop. Using traditional pottery techniques and a bespoke glaze for Estate Tea Co, these teapots are truly one of a kind. Because of the handmade nature of these teapots, each one will vary slightly in size, shape and glaze.
